GOOD NEWS FOR COACH….

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report rationalized Daboll’s situation and made the case that Joe Mara and the Giants’ front office should continue with him till 2024, writing in part:

“Sunday’s game, though, is the latest example of why Daboll’s job should be safe for the time being,” Knox posed.

“The Giants may not finish the 2023 season on a winning streak.” However, they’re concluding with enough energy and momentum to suggest that Daboll can turn things around fast in 2024—if general manager Joe Schoen can provide him with a better roster.”

The Giants were within two points of winning their sixth game of the season against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Despite the 26-25 loss, Daboll has done a great job developing his youthful players and motivating the club to a three-game victory streak after Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor were injured midway through the season.

This year’s performance stands in stark contrast to the Giants’ 9-7 season in 2022. Much of this may be attributed to a slew of injuries within his starting lineup on both sides of the ball.

Encouragingly, the Giants are expected to have a top-five pick in the forthcoming 2024 NFL Draft, allowing the team to rebuild its offensive line and possibly land a quality quarterback prospect.

With a deeper roster, Daboll will be in a better position to repeat his 2022 NFL Coach of the Year season and lead the Giants back to the playoffs.

Furthermore, he is under contract for three more years. Daboll deserves the benefit of the doubt.
